LITTLE ONES

The Little Ones is an indie pop band based in Los Angeles, California. They are currently signed to Astralwerks Records, and have released one EP on that label, titled Sing Song. In 2006, Matt Costa invited them to open for him at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City, which has brought them in a rise to fame.

The Little Ones' indie pop tunes, which feature tambourines and handclaps, have garnered them comparisons to 1960s pop bands such as The Beach Boys, The Zombies, The Kinks, modern-day pop group The Shins, and the Elephant Six collective.

Before Ed Reyes and Ian Moreno formed The Little Ones, they had been in an indie rock band called Sunday's Best. The following is an excerpt from The Little Ones' website about the history of the band:

"The Little Ones quickly realized that their only weapon against reality was their imagination. They embarked on a radical experiment: to see if they could convince themselves that everything was going to be all right. They spent majority of their nights holed up in their studio affectionately named "Uncle Lee's". There were many songs written and many songs abandoned. At times, they felt their muse had left the building. Still afraid of the world outside, they adopted a "just write and don’t tell anyone policy"‚ that lasted for more than a year. As the experiment grew longer and longer, they grew weary that they could no longer follow the path they started on. One by one, each of the Little Ones wanted to stray. A new barometer needed to be set. They came up with Uncle Lee's Rule of Feet. The rule stated that a song was deemed appropriate if, and only if; each of the Little Ones’ feet could shuffle. Once they adopted this new rule they began to realize what they had right in front of them."

An announcement made on The Little Ones official website in October 2007 confirmed that their full debut album, titled "Morning Tide", is scheduled for an international release in April 2008. It will be preceded by a new single entitled "Ordinary Song". In November 2007, the video for "Ordinary Song" became available for viewing on the The Little Ones' MySpace page. RA RA RIOT

Ra Ra Riot is an American indie rock band from Syracuse, New York, consisting of vocalist Wes Miles, bassist Mathieu Santos, guitarist Milo Bonacci, cellist Alexandra Lawn, violinist Rebecca Zeller and drummer Cameron Wisch.

Ra Ra Riot formed in 2006, playing at houses and venues around the Syracuse University campus. The band started to attract attention for their energetic live shows, enough to gain an appearance at the CMJ Music Marathon, less than six months after their formation. Following this appearance, their live show received the first of several favorable reviews from SPIN.com, who called them "one of the best young bands we've heard in a really long time". They went on to open for Art Brut and Bow Wow Wow in New York City, toured the UK twice on their own, then returned, opening for Editors; they also toured North America supporting Tokyo Police Club. Their first solo headlining tour of the U.S. was completed in 2007, and in early 2008 they embarked on a second. The band was also invited to play the Iceland Airwaves Festival, in Reykjavik, Iceland. They have recorded three sessions on the national online radio station WOXY and two for the acclaimed Daytrotter sessions at Futureappletree studio 1 in Rockland, IL.

In 2007, they made their first appearance at South by Southwest, and headlined a show at the South Street Music Festival in New York City. The band returned to appear again at the South by Southwest Music Conference in March of 2008.

The band's original drummer John Ryan Pike, of Hamilton, MA went missing after a show on June 1, 2007 near Buzzard's Bay, MA. His body was later recovered from the bay.[7]. Bandmates, friends, and family laid him to rest on June 9, 2007, and Ra Ra Riot issued a statement a few weeks later that they would continue as a band.

In the winter of 2007, the band signed to major label V2 Records. To celebrate their new label deal, Ra Ra Riot released "Dying is Fine" and "Each Year (RAC Mix)" on 7" vinyl as an A/B single. In December 2007, the band announced that they had finished recording new songs for their debut LP; however, no more information has been issued pertaining to the release date of the untitled record.
