EAST INDIA COMPANY

EIC (East India Company) has its origins in different college bands from India who were greatly influenced by the popular music genre and performers of those times, such as Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Queen and Rush, to just name a few. Over the years, the band members have added influences from not only rock, jazz and funk but also from traditional and commercial Indian music. While the band can still perform a haunting Floyd or a mean G’n’R tribute number, EIC is evolving into a band that can combine these influences to write and compose music that tells its stories and reflects its own personality. EIC has performed in a few shows in and around the Seattle area. In Utsav, EIC would like to present versions of some popular songs from the Indian subcontinent that they appreciate and also a few of their own compositions.

Presenting the band:

Guitarist: Prasanna Veeraswamy
Bassist: Anand Lakshminarayanan
Vocalist: Sharad Kylasam
Guest Vocalists: Vasudha Chandrasekaran & Sherwyn Soff
